Objective To investigate the frequency and polymorphism of HIV coreceptor CCR5 delta32 allele in Guangxi Zhuang population and evaluate the genetic susceptibilityto HIV-1 infection of Zhuang population for providing the theoretical basis for prevention and treatments of AIDS.Methods The research group included 152 subjects who were student at universities.CCR5 and CCR5 delta 32 mutation were detected by PCR and futher confirmed by DNA sequencing analyses. Results CCR5 delta 32 mutation did not occur in all the 152 samples. Conclusion Since CCR5 delta 32 mutation was not found,it can speculate that there may be a high genetic susceptibility for HIV-I in Guangxi Zhuang population of Guangxi region.
