Objective To study the effect of NOR_1 gene on level of interleukin-8(IL-8) in HepG2 cells.Methods NOR_1 gene was introduced into human liver cancer cell line HepG2 by using cation lipofectamine.The expression of IL-8 mRNA in HepG2 cells were detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and the levels of IL-8 in cell culture medium were measured by ELISA.Results The levels of IL-8 in cell culture medium of the of NOR1 gene transfection group was higher than those in blank group and control group(P<0.01),but there was no difference for IL-8 mRNA between the NOR_1 gene transfection group and the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion NOR_1 gene may induce increased expression of IL-8 in HepG2 cells.
