Abstract:Abstract: Objective:To investigate the distributing characteristies of human papillomavirus (HPV) subtypes in patients with different stages of cervical lesions and the value of HPV genotyping in prevention and treatment of cervical cancer. Methods:The genotyping detection of HPV was performed by flow fluorescence hybridization assay in 403 patients with different stages of cervical lesions diagnosed by colposcopic biopsy. Results:In total 20 subtypes of HPV were detected from 403 samples. Among them, high risk subtypes accounted for 94.9% (451/475) and low risk subtypes 5.1% (24/475). The most frequent subtypes were HPV52, 16, 58, 33, 18 and 39. The infective rate of HPV16 in cervical cancer was 94.7% and it increased with the severity of cervical lesions (P<0.01). HPV52 was the most frequent subtype in this study and its infective rate decreased with the severity of cervical lesions (P<0.01). Conclusion:HPV52, 16, 58, 33, 18 and 39 are the frequent subtypes in cervical lesions in Guangzhou region, and the HPV subtype is closely related to the degree of cervical lesion.
