Abstract:Abstract: ObjectiveTo investigate the epidemiological characteristics of common respiratory pathogens causing infections in children in Wuxi area, and provide a basis for clinical prevention and treatment. Methods The nasopharyngeal swab samples were collected from children who visited the Afiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University from March 2023 to February 2025. The nucleic acids of six common respiratory pathogens, including influenza A virus(Flu A),influenza B virus(Flu B),human rhinovinus(HRV),respiratory syncytial virus(RSV),adenovirus(Adv),and Mycoplasma pneumoniae(MP)were detected using real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR, and the detection rates were analyzed. Results Among the 6 945 samples,4 394 tested positive for pathogens, including 3 872 cases of single infection and 522 cases of mixed infections. The overall detection rates of the six pathogens, ranked from the highest to lowest, were as follows:MP (26.94%),HRV(16.17%),Adv(10.47%),RSV(8.11%),FluA(6.34%),and Flu B (2.89%). The detection rates of RSV,MP,and HRV were the highest in the
